Tiles have been fitted and I am now getting ready to fit toilet / basin and shower enclosure. Need to drill the tiles so I can attach everything to the wall. I was going to get a diamond core drill, but these only drill the circumference of the circular hole, leaving the centre still firmly fixed to the wall. Are there any 'normal' drill bits that can be used with porcelain to enable me to drill through the tile so I can screw fittings to the wall?

Thanks

Once you've drilled a hole with a 6mm diamond core bit, there won't be much tile left, and what there is can be easily removed.

Yes, but IIRC they're more expensive and more fragile.

I have used core bits up to 38mm and can assure you that the slug does not stay attached to the wall, even if it did a little tap with a toffee hammer would soon free it ;)
