Will humans evolve any further?

I'm wondering if human beings are going to evolve any further? Now that we know so much and can do practically everything, do we need to evolve?

if yes ...how ?

100 years ago our forbears said the same thing.
Its funny really, it seems we've totally ****ed up our planet with this ozone thingy and rather than work out how we can fix it we are recently being told that there's a website we can join to help monitor it to see the destruction of the polar ice cap that we are responsible for, no not funny.......... sick. not really evolved, more devolved.

toffee

Guess who suffers PMT then ;)

I think that we will continue to evolve as all species are generally programmed to survive. I would guess that some of the evolutionary changes will be - we will combat cancers and other diseases (I mean by physical changes in our bodies, not medicines). Of course, new 'illnesses and diseases' will then become threats - after all, they are programmed to survive too

As for our appearance, it will be interesting to see what changes, because already people are having cosmetic surgery, etc to change their appearance. I wonder if this will leave an imprint in their DNA and play any part in the process of evolution

Here is my list of evolutionary changes that will occur in the next 100 years:

1. Women will learn to reverse a car
2. Men will no longer find it funny to fart under the duvet and whaft it at their missus.
3. There will be a Teso in every town and village in the UK
4. 'Crossroads' will make a comeback (with original cast)
5. Children will have absolutely no respect for others due to the 'politcal correctness' imposed today

Really guys, I seriously mean this.
Women spend their time trying to find ways of reducing this awful time.
There is one coil with hormones that can almost make periods none existent.
We need to ovulate (make the egg for those of you not conversant with womens stuff)
but we dont need the period.
For those with girlfriends/ wives... you know what I mean and wont squirm or recoil in disgust.
But really... why do we need this time of feeling crabby ( not all of us but YES I BLOOMING WELL DO OK!!!)
Its messy and in this day and age... I dont see why it has to happen.
I dont see why we havent moved on from this.
Its still quite a taboo subject and its awful to put up with.... and expensive!!!!

It's been some years since I studied medicine, but from what I recall it is necessary for a woman to have a period - it gets rid of the endometrium should it not have a fertalised egg attached. It is due to hormonal changes that occur at this time. The blood that comes with it are resultant from the breakages of the tiny blood vessels within the endometrium

oh toffee...toffee...toffee... boohoo..lol

try shaving every other day , an them Mach4 blades aint cheap ...lol

seriously I did make sure that I picked a good un with the missus , no hassle an wailing at that time ... maybe when she hits the change soon she will explode an stab old moz to death in a temper ..lol..lol..lol
watch the BBC northwest news lol

toffee.....I will say this.
I always thought that you reached a certain age and then the period stops.
It does....I haven't had a period in 4 years---sorry guys, this won't take but a minute. However, what they don't tell you, is to compensate for the "messy" part....you still are left with the b it chy, psycho, crying, moody part, which if given a choice, I would rather do without...course that's just me.

now....off the top of my head--I think we are over due for that extra set of hands, a 20/20 eye in the back of our heads and to be able to be on "automatic pilot and get through the work day" while we get some extra needed sleep.

sorry... I didnt mean we literally didnt need the period.. I understand what happens biologically to my body but I thought that by now we would have adapted.. evolved.. to not have such a messy time.I just meant that we didnt need, on the grounds that it was such a nuisance... the period time.
Some ladies are lucky and can do what they like but others... well... not so.
Wasnt doing the moany women thing... I seriously wonder why this messy time still happens in this day and age.
Also, body hair on women.. we all spent time and money getting rid of it so why does it still grow!!!!!!!!!!

You must be joking, right? Cosmetic surgery cannot imprint on DNA.

Because if we lived like we are supposed to live you would still need it.
