I have spoken to them a few times and all they say is "it is quite old and we don't build them with internal stuff anymore"(I guess for this reason).
I am not sure what the warranty period is. I bought it in 2009.
A new one will be around £1200
If the internal phe is knackered, how would fitting an external phe stop the overpressuring? The internal knackered one is still there.
The old one is disconnected. The old dhw tappings are plugged.
All the connections to the new phe become external.
Your warranty is probably null and void...
EnergyManager thermal store cylinder
It is important to have the cylinder serviced annually to ensure safe operation and as a requirement of the warranty. To qualify for the warranty a record must be kept in this guide.
Was kinda hoping it was a combi (passing filling loop would explain a lot) Its might be possible to cut out the internal phe and let it drop inside the cylinder then fit an external phe with pump and flow switch on to the existing dhw connections.
