So I’m going to blame my husband here who told me a couple of weeks ago that we had plenty of oil, turns out we didn’t. This is a boiler that was commissioned just this year, do a new model one hopes.
Oil ran out over the weekend. The tank was refilled yesterday but the heating hasn’t come on. The ‘boiler on’ switch is illuminated as is the reset button. When I press the button in the motor starts the a secondary motor or other sound kicks in then they both stop. The pressure psi and bar are at zero. There’s also a black and white other gauge thats also at zero. Am I missing something obvious?

TIA

Tedmonds, good evening.

Notice this is your first post in here, if no one else does Welcome

OK Not my particular area of expertise BUT?

Have you considered some form of "Air lock" where the feed pipe from the tank [which has run out--is empty] to the burners has run out of Oil, when the tank was re-filled the Oil could not get into the feed pipework because the feed pipe was full of air, with no where for the air to go, the air could not "escape" at the burner end of the feed pipe? also, the Oil feed tends to be gravity fed?? [high tank, low level boiler?]

Hope the above makes sense??

Are there any instructions as to how to remove feed pipework air lock?

As previously stated Not my comfort zone, just a consideration??

Ken.

Repressurise the boiler then undo the bottom screw on the bottom of the oil pump wait till the bubbles stop then tighten the screw then try to start by pressing the reset button.Bob
