WelcomeThanks for that!!!
WelcomeThanks for that!!!
I don't think I could go on if I did that.
I hope you'd stop, although it would have been too late by then.
When I was at school in the late 60's early 70's we had to walk on the left and were forbidden to hold the banister as it 'encouraged laziness and lack of upright bearing. Everyone had to walk in a calm, controlled manner to avoid accidents.
I do wish schools were like that now! Did you have to walk with a book balanced on your head as well?
I bet you still have that air of confidence in your walkNo but the local girls grammar school did that sort of stuff. We were 'instructed' to walk with a confidence befitting a potential commissioned officer.
God knows why because it wasn't a military based school or anything and once we were out at the end of the day we walked normally. LOL
Formative years eh. I bore my kids witless about it and how important these years are to them.I bet you still have that air of confidence in your walk
Formative years.
Interesting point by Dr Chris on R5L yesterday, re (very) little kids returning to school.
He said that a particular aspect of their brain development ends at around six years of age. A part that deals with socialisation, iirc.
Once that opportunity is gone, it's gone for good.
According to the priests who teach at the Jesuit schools it's give me the boy before 8 or else it's too late.Old wisdom dressed with a veneer of scientific righteousness! It used to be seven; "Give me the boy until seven years of age" etc etc.
