How to unscrew this kind of tap?

I removed the two screws from the threaded brass piece (which were in the two holes on the sides). I can now twist the brass piece but the tap twists with it. I was wondering what I should do next and what tool to use.

Thanks for any advice!

From a dim memory of a tap of this type I once changed:

1. The male threaded brass shank is part of the tap body. Turn it and the tap will turn as well.
2. The piece nearest the sink (just below the plastic reinforcing triangle) through which the two screws went is actually a form of nut, and should unscrew from the threaded shank.

Loosen the 2 screws and the nut will only be finger tight

Looks like he got the screws out but doesn't know how to turn the nut. probably just about get a fraction of a turn with some grips and then the rest by hand

Oh yes in one photo the screws are gone.
I would have loosened them and then you have something to put your finger and thumb on to spin the nut.
Grips can be used but probably not required. Threads look nice and clean.
