Me neither, which is why I suggested calling in a local spark and offering to dig the trench.
yup , I agree, the best way forward get a pro to do the job and ask if he will allow you to dig the trench and perhaps help with some other tasks too.
Who needs a trench when there is already a perfectly good cable present?

Then you can’t just connect a light and a double socket to the EV supply, i.e. OP needs another cable.
The owner doesn’t have an EV at present and may never get one.
Hum. So repurpose a large cable and maybe add it again or drop in a length of smaller cable? That’s not a hard decision
T'was my plan from the get go but wanted to findout more about OPs capabilities before suggesting.

Surely , it depends on the size of cable already installed for the EV charger ? If there is spare capacity then you can T off it for a garage CU. Or put a larger CU on the end of the existing cable with positions for the EV charger, power sockets and lighting circuits.
