Repressurise Logic Combi+ 24 - SOLVED

I am trying to repressurise my boiler, this has previously been a routine task but the process I would usually follow isn't working this time.

I have attached an image of the pipes and valves.

Previously I would need to turn the blue and black valves nearest the loop, but this is not working. I have returned them to the positions I found them in.

I have had the boiler serviced since last having to adjust the pressure, I am wondering if they adjusted the default valve positions?

I couldn't find a video or guide which had the same layout of pipes and valves, hopefully somebody here recognises the layout.

I would be grateful for any advice on what I am doing wrong.

You are correct ,the blue and black handles are used to top up pressure. They are both in closed position in your pic .
Open both and tell us what the pressure gauge reads .
If pressure doesn't increase one of the valves isn't working, (remains closed).

Thanks for the quick response.

With the two valves closest to the loop fully turned, nothing appears to happen.

Previously I would be able to hear the water rush through the pipe when turning the valve.

I have attached a photo, to confirm which valves I have changed.

They are now both in open position. What's the boiler pressure at ?
It's possible that the handle is not turning the shaft below on one of them.

With both valves open the pressure is hovering just above 1.

That is with the hot water and heating turned off (but the boiler power on).

The central heating has just been on, it is not from cold.

Either your mains cold water pressure is no greater than the gauge shows ,or one of the filling loop valves isn't opening

I can try again at various times of the day to see if there is a difference.

The valves toward the back of the photo are in the same off position, do you know what effect that has on the flow of water?

The blue one isolates the cold water flow into the boiler ( for domestic hot water),the other isolates the boiler from central heating system. As both heating and domestic hot water are both functioning as they should those 2 valves are open.

OK, this makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

Going on your previous comment about the potentially broken valve, I searched for some additional help on YouTube.

I have managed to solve my issue. This video directed me to the problem:

He suggests that the plastic lever can be worn, to the point where it can no longer grip the valve to turn it.

I took the plastic lever off, it does look slightly worn. I can look for a replacement.

However, screwing it back on and ensuring the screw is tight appears to have helped. I can now repressurise the boiler.

Likely a temporary fix until I can replace the lever, but good for now.
