Since 2022, Chinese companies have announced plans to invest at least $227 billion in green manufacturing projects outside the country, according to a report co-authored by Sahay. It’s a staggering number that the researchers pointed out compared favorably in scale to the U.S. post-war reconstruction funding in Europe under the Marshall Plan.
