To Prime or Not to Prime

I have a 2018 Ford Mondeo 1.5 TDCI ( XUCA Engine )I am planning to change the Fuel Filter. It looks to be a straight forward Job but the Research I have done on line and YT gives conflicting information regarding what to do when fitting the new Filter.

A The car is fitted with LP fuel pump in the Tank and just cycle the ignition prior to start up to Prime the filter housing

B Fill the filter housing with Diesel Prior to start up

C Fit Hand held Bulb type Pump to return and use this to Draw fuel through

Can anybody advise what is correct for this Engine Pls

My old transit I filled with diesel.
I don't enjoy doing them having had problems with it leaking or engine not starting.
I think there is different ways to to do it but some go for the way that works best hence different advice.
Official way that may give you problems or unofficial that works

B will be good enough.

Try B first but on a work colleagues Kuga we had to suck it through the return line from memory, not difficult to do though.
