there are normally two more fixing holes on basins higher up, see if there are any bolts there. none of it sounds good practice, the stopcock is not really his fault as it will have started leaking when he used it, a quite simple fix for him though as it is a regular thing.

with the essex flange, buy one from a plumbers merchant and they should explain to you how they work, basically invloves a hook but hard to explain in text. Easier than they sound to fit.

Hi, our downstairs radiators stopped coming on, think the 3 way valve was sticking so put a new one on, now some rads come on and some don't. But it changes regularly which ones are on and which arn't. But they're never all on at once! any idea of the likely cause? Thanks
