Hello, I need to batten out a wall and create a 50mm depth to be filled with 50mm thick sheep wool insulation. What timber should I use for this? If I search for 50mm CLS I get results which say 50mm x 75mm (38mm x 63mm). 38mm isn't 50mm. Super confused.

Yeah, it's the underside of this one here. I guess 'weeping' is the way to describe it. Whereas everything else on the T piece seems to be sealed and encased in layers and layers of paint, you can just about see a clear line / gap has appeared around here. I haven't tried moving the nut at all...

Hello, Thinking of changing my plans a bit. I understand that you want to avoid soil contact with sleepers because soil will hold moisture (hence using some sort of barrier / membrane), however, if the backfill is instead Mot Type 1 Subbase is a protective membrane necessary? Thanks!
