    Cheap and cheerful!

I have a mate who will skim it for me for free but I didnt think it was worth the hassle as I am not really bothered about the appearance only making it a little better than bare plasterboards! Might even have a go at skimming it myself as it wont really matter if it is a disaster! Thanks...

    Fitting Handrail on Balustrade

oops! I can remove the bottom post. I realise it may not be the best job but I just need to fix it securely. What about drilling halfway through the newell (it is a square stop chamfer post) with a 10mm bit and then screwing from there into the rail and then filling, sanding and painting the...

    Coax Cable Signal Splitter

Hi, I need to split the signal from the aerial to connect to 2 TVs. When I use a conventional splitter the sigbnal drops to an unacceptable level. When either TV is connected without the splitter the signal is fine. Do I just have a cheap splitter? Can I get some kind of signal boosting...

Just moved house and radiators in the kids bedrooms are cold. 8mm pipes running to valaves are cold. Have read other threads - most focus on attempting to release seized TRV. The valves on mine are Pegler Terriers - have tried hitting them with hammer but no change. Have tried forcing heat...

    Adding Light from mains spur

So my intention was originally to remove the socket and replace with a junction box. from the junction boa run2 cables, 1 to a socket and one to the light (through a 3amp fused switch). Should I do the above but with a 13a FCU instead of junction box?

    Adding Light from mains spur

I have read some other posts on adding a light from a ringmain and one mentioned that you cannot add a spur from a spur. I am making a utility room in the back of my garage and there is a double socket there but no light. However - I think that the double socket must be on spur as there is...
