10mm cable into socket

OK, I am not handy, nor technical, but I don't want to be taken for a ride so I thought I'd come ask you guys for adice before going anywhere.

Basically, I had an electric cooker that was wired in badly, actually quite dangerously (not by me I might add). I've now gotten rid of it and replaced it with a gas cooker, but Comet won't fit it until I have a socket for the timer and ignition to plug into. The only cable I have is 10mm which won't fit a standard socket.

What can I do? I'm currently without a cooker.

As it's only for a timer and ignition spark, could the 10mm cable be connected to a junction box with thinner, more manageable cable at the other side for connection to a socket? As I said, I have no idea about cabling, Ijust don't want to call someone in and pay out more than I need (that's happened before).

Have you got an isolating switch at high level and an outlet plate behind where the cooker goes?

If you have you may be able to replace the "switched" cable with something smaller that will suit a single socket, but to do this you will have to ensure that the correct breaker is fitted to the DB.

I reackon you might be able to squeeze it into an MK socket on a deep patress. MK I think state that their sockets will act 2x6mm², so should be able to get 1x10mm² in as long as there is enough room to bend it in

Think something like this would be suitable. Do you know an electrician wh could fit one?
