Can anyone help? We are currently having some building works done and the electrician has said that we need to up grade our 16th edition consumer unit to 17th edition. The existing unit is only a few years old and has spare capacity. Do we need to upgrade?

possibally, the price of a handfull of RCBO's could well cost more than a dual RCD board.
Ask him how many RCBOs would be required to solve the problem.
