2 switch light

i really do appreciate all the assistance on here. One last question from the village idiot. If i try the trial and error method and switch the power off between wire swaps and if i make a mistake, when i switch the power back on am i likely to fry the whole works or just blow the fuse for the lights.

use a multimeter or other suitable test instrument and then you will find the correct cable to use

pain in the neck again. I managed to borrow a multimeter from a friend but he has no idea how to use it and has lost the instructions. Can someone tell me how to set it up and use it to find the proper wire. I am very sorry for being such a nuisance and again would like to thank people for there assistance.
