I want to fit 2 x 2 gang dimmer switches in my house (so that lights upstairs and downstairs can be controlled).

Is it possible to fit 2 dimmer switches on one circuit? I was advised by the lighting guy at B&Q that you can't do this- you can only have 1 x 2 gang dimmer and 1 x 2 gang switch.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Thanks!

That sounds very interesting. How do I know from the packaging what is a master or slave dimmer?

It will say on it....Master....Slave....

Normal dimmers are just one way, two way one gang two gang etc, they have the same nomenclature as plate switches.

Aha. That explains that. Only problem is that I'm going for Crabtree chrome dimmers and as far as I can see they only make regular dimmer switches (1 gang, 2 gand etc).

Is it possible to have a double dimmer and a double switch on the same circuit?

Cheers.
