Hi Guys,

I need some help locating a 2000W Dimmer. A local sparky informed me that i would have to special order it and would cost me about £80.

Can i order this online from any wholesaler as such?

Many thanks in advance.

What are you trying to dim with it?

Is it for a domestic premisis?

Is the wiring currently installed for the light(s) / switch?

I need it for commercial purposes. Yup the wiring is currently working on a single switch.

There are 4 chandeliers with 7 40W bulbs each.

total load to dim 1120W

Hence looking for a maximum capacity dimmer.

Thanks.

Is there any size constraints, or would apperance be an issue?

The reason I ask is if you are looking for a dimmer that size, you will not get anything on a standard accessory plate.

The biggest plate dimmer available is 1000W on a 2G plate.

Would you be able to split the load over two switches?

I'm having diffuculty finding a single channel dimmer with that capacity.

Would additional channels be any use to you?

<edit> Just seen 333rocky333's post. That looks like a good soloution.

Taylortwocities, sorry, but the link is for a remote dimmer, not a replacement switch.

Yup the wiring is currently working on a single switch.

If it was to be remote there are a lot of commercial lighting dimmers that may be suitable, but it looks like he wants just a switch
