Does anyone know of any good reason why the cold water supply from my CW tank in the loft to my bathroom is supplied by 28mm copper pipe?

I was wondering if I can replace it with 22mm and then only have to fit a reducing tee for the sink. The CW tanks only feeds the bath and sink.

I should explain that the reason for wanting to replace the 28mm pipe is that it's currently in an awkward place in the bathroom that would be a nightmare to box in.

Bigger pipe means less resistance so more flow. WHether you'd notice is another matter. WHat flow do you get at the bath tap - it would be interesting to know!! Can you measure it with a 9 litre bucket?

If you use 22mm, with a traditional 3/4" tap, no flexible connecting hoses, and you have 8 ft ceilings and this is the floor below the tank, so total 4-6 m of pipe, you'd normally get about 20- 24 litres/minute.
