The main fuse on the job, died on power up, it was dated 1961, just gave up!!

Anyway knew I could get one in Notts this Sat gone, called into Denmans and beggar me, they had sold the last one an hour ago!!!!

fuse is 1361

Where in Leeds/ Bradford am I likely to get one on Monday / Tuesday

Cheers Guys

You're from Shipley arn't you?

Try CEF just off Leeds road, on the industrial estate opposite the travellers rest pub.

They should be open tomorrow, and if they don't have one, ask them to ring round and find a local branch that does.

Failing that, I've got my emergency 100A main fuse in my tool box if you need a TEMPORARY fix. (You must not leave it with a 100A fuse though)

RF Thanks for the info, would have gone to CEF but been to Notts. Thanks for the offer of emergency fuse.

On way throu MChester this afternoon saw a wholesaler open, called in and he had a BS88 60A fuse, bought it just in case, but the original is a BS1361

How do I stand using this one, I know it is a HRC fuse but would it be acceptable or should I buy a 1361 in the a.m.

Thanks for your kind offer of the fuse loan :D

If we are talking the main DNO fuse.....the DNO would have replaced it for free a few hours you blew it

Yep they would, but the DNO said after mid-night :( ,

the customer was needing to go on holiday, had to leave 30A fuse wire

doubled up in incomer  , with 1 ring final connected to power the fridge,

and nothing else, protected by RCD.

Not ideal by any stretch, but at least they did not miss their holiday

Thought I would source a fuse myself so that when they return Tuesday a.m. they can at least boil the kettle!!!!

Did you manage to get things sorted Oharaf?

I was going through some boxes in my garage today looking for something completely unrelated, and would you beleive it - I found a 60A BS1361 cartridge fuse!!

Hi RF, yep got it sorted, after having to call DNO out to come and replace it, they were cool, said that 37 years wasn't bad for the fuse and that the disturbance of a new install is not that un common to cause them to pop.

Any way job done now, took 2 large bags of cable out the place, going to Guiseley tomorrow to weigh it in, unstripped, I assume they won't be to bothered
