9651 - how do i stop the control panel beeping due to batt

I just ripped my alarm out. Damn thing went off three times for no reason just after we moved in. No swat appeared. No coppers came even though the police headquarters is only a half mile away and no neighbours came round to see what was going on. I had a permanent tamper alarm on that I couldn't get rid of and the local alarm people wanted a £100 to come and look. Newp, took all the batteries that I could find out and then ripped all the hardware out. it was a complete waste of time.
