'97 Laguna - crazy rear lights

Hi all.

When I have the side or headlights on, and indicate right, the indicator operates at twice the normal speed, while also interfering with the other rear lights (but not the side/headlights). Something else to note, is that the foglight indicator on the dash glows on & off as the indicator is working, and also while the brake pedal is being pushed.

I've had the rear lights out and cleaned up all the contacts and checked the bulbs, all seems dandy. Same for the headlights.

I'm stumped, can you guys shed any light on this?

Almost certain to be a bad earth contact.Look for where the rear lamp wiring goes to ground,and remove/clean the eyelet.You can probe about with a test lamp or just a length of wire "improving the earth" to diagnose it,but as so many lamps are involved,it is probably a common connector.

Thanks for the reply, after all the messing about, it seems to have sorted itself out, but I'll follow your advice anyway.
