Why are certain items deleted and or censured?

To be precise;

When obviously the moderator has no technical experience in the subject matter?

Alarm section, A hot knife being suggested as a "Fix".

Sorry for the late reply, was rather busy with a fault find and repair with rather more than a cigarette lighter and a eating implement.
