The preferred outcome should be a no deal scenario.

I would prefer no deal as the outcome, certainly.

The chaos from a no deal will be more difficult for the Tory govt to blame elsewhere, it would do considerable political damage. (which is why Alex wont do it)

brexers would be forced to abandon the ship faster if it hits the no deal iceberg, more chance for some adults in the room to start repairing the damage sooner.

Biden was a fan of Maggie Thatcher and supported the UK during the Falklands War so I see no issue with whoever the new president may be.
