Abu's on his way hooray

I hate to point this out but have you seen how many English have made Spain their home and their attitude to integrating? They/we are one of the worst for bothering to learn a second language, although they think shouting louder at them helps. More a case of when in Rome do as the Romans do, unless you’re a Brit...

Fair comment but it's got no relevance for british people who have no intention of emigrating, and who want to live here in a society that they are used to.
In other words the ones who are "staying at home".

Hmmm... I’m not deliberately always trying to be on the opposing side to you sooey  but I work with so many Muslims and Abu is just one of many giving them a bad name, along with all the other fanatics you see on the telly.

I think they pray each day, five or six times, and I’m sure they would be insulted if you said the wrong thing. But I’ve seen, first hand, how lovely, kind caring and above all just how much they value human life.

I think the only time I came close to offending one was when I saw a clinician’s shoe lace undone and told her as I reached towards her foot. She suddenly turned into Michael Flatly like I was going to jump on her bones or something. (They’re funny about feet & shoes).

In fact, working in the care system as I do, this country would be seriously ball-axed if it weren’t for ‘them foreigners’. If it were possible to send em all back we’d have no one to care and provide for us, and good luck trying to get some dedicated conscientious white English honky who thinks cleaning is beneath him or her. But I digress...

You digress a lot don't you
I've got no problem with people coming here and bringing their religion with them, as long as they don't try to force it on me of course.

Funnily enough I was thinking the same thing...

How dare these 'newcomers' force their religion upon us at school or in the social groups that require our kids to swear allegiance to or not be allowed to join...

Bloody Christians!

If any "bloody christians" try to force their religion on me I'd tell them where to go too. Muslims, christians, jews, any other religious people you care to mention, they're all a gang of misled fools.

Good point, well made ellal. I’m an atheist but at school I was forced, yes forced, to go to the Local RC church and sing hymns at assembly in the morning. Where was my right not to do this offensive, to me, crap? I was able to resist the damn poisonous stuff because I have a brain and no amount of indoctrination was going to sway me. If someone wants me to change my mind give me proof using science and logic...

I've found something in common with sooey at last

AMEN

Its a fact that religion is the creator of all wars and that will never change no side will ever win and so it goe's on and thats why a country which wants to embrace and create a multi cultural society will never do so as hard as they may try. It just wont work !!.

No, religion is often just the banner that people fight under.
The real cause is usually land or commodities.

I agree that some people use religion as an excuse but that therefore back's me up that religion is behind it all in the end . If there was no religion what would they fight their cause under?

I cut out a snippet in a newspaper quoting the playwright Jonathan Millar who once did the most brilliant anti-religious interview, in Ireland of all places, on the Gay Byrne show. (Wish I had a copy). From memory this is what he wrote..

“Religions are a vile set of beliefs; I hate them all”

Yep; sums it up for me too.

I’ve never heard of an atheist on a soap box shouting “there is no god” or blowing himself up along with a dozen innocents...

I've heard that, but I've never heard one say......."believe me or I'll kill you".
