Hi all.
I'm in the process of trying to add a new down light to our bedroom and I want to run it off the same switch as the only other ceiling light which is a pendant wired the old way as a 3 plate.
In my first attempt I thought I'd located the supply wire so i used a junction box to wire it in.
Now the original light stays on all the time while the new one works by the switch.
I think this means I have actually found the switch live cable and wired into that instead of the supply.
Having checked the switch, there is no neutral, only L1, C and E.
How can I get this to work please? I think I need to wire into the ceiling rose but not sure on the order.
Many thanks

You need to connect your new light to the same connections as the existing light at the existing light position.
