adding consumer unit

but that's not what you said...

hi all,
i have an old wylex fuse board under my stairs
and wish to add a new board to the circuit just for the
use or the kitchen/ bathroom extension. the new board
will be in the hall.

can i just use a spare 30 A fuse which has the cartridge
type fuses and come off that with
6 or 10mm cable to the new board?

or is that not going to be able to take a new ring main,
cooker circuit and lights etc.

so you quite clearly were / are intending to do it, not that someone had already done it..

if you'd have said that then we wouldn't have replied in the way we have..

we replied the way we did to try and stop you doing something dangerous because the question itself put doubt in our minds as to whether you knew eneough to be doing this work without danger tou yourself or to others..

well i dont know how long ago the work was done but
it just goes to show how shoddy some peoples work is.

i have replaced the 6mm feed with 16mm tails off of an
existing henley block and as the sub main was a few
meters away, i have installed a kmf switch fuse.

i think that most people would accept that this is
a lot better than the existing setup.
