Hello

I'm new to the forum although have used it in the past for some diy assistance this is my first post.

I would like to add external power to power a pond pump and also a socket.

I have a suitable double socket in my living room which is on the gable end.

Now I want to retain a socket for use inside and would also like to be able to isolate the power to outside.

Instead of installing a twin back box and installing a single socket and rcd spur to save having to chisel out to fit this could I use a double cooker switch with socket and spur from the cooker switch to an outside ip rated rcd on the opposite side of the wall.

Hope I made sense ha thanks!

Hi

Thanks for the replies. My consumer unit is an older one and doesn't have an RCD in place.
