Can anyone tell me if it's OK to have 2 spurs coming from the same juction box on a ring main??
Thanks!!

I dont think the regs state specifically that you can't have two spurs off one socket, only that you can't have more spurs than skts on a ring, BUT the BS for skt terminals states they should accept up to 3 x 2.5. So I'm sure someone will shoot me down but you can install two spurs off a skt but it is not recommended because th skt manufacturer isn't req to make the skt to sufficient load carrying capacity!

...nice debate!!
I appreciate the views - however I was after the amount of spurs from a junction box on the ring, rather than from a socket.....not sure whether this differs?

But the OP asked about two spurs off a junction box, not two spurs off a socket.

It can also unbalance the ring by having so much load at one point on the ring.

To answer the OP, I can't see any reason why you can't take two spurs from the same junction box providing its terminals are adequate.
