Ading sockets throughout house

Thanks for the reply guys, the wiring in the house was not complicated so was able to extend the ring in each room no problem.

Got another question now.. The garage (which is attatched to the house) has no electricity and needs a supply! What's the best way? Need a supply to a square d garage board which will run 2x5ft fitting and at the most 4 double sockets! The garage is only abour 5metes away from the CU but that seems to be full! Any suggestions?? Thanks guys.

FCU off the nearest ring to the garage. Is it an attached garage?

I wouldnt bother with a CU in the garage just create a radial from the FCU and add an FCU into it to supply the lights

Assuming the sockets will be for fairly occasional / low demand items

Otherwise you will need to look at other, more involved methods, such as a henley block on the tails, switch fuse and then supply the CU in the garage

I was thinking that cus their is a single socket at the top of the stairs which I can feed off into the garage through the wall (yes it is attatched) they have also requested a caravab hook up point in the garage, would that be too much load for the ring?

Would I need to put a 3a fuse in the FCU for the lights?

a 3a fuse for the lights yea

and a caravan socket is a 16a socket, so yes, more than a 13a fuse

Although a lot of people just use adapters like this:

to charge their caravans.

I would err on the side of caution and get a spark to fit a proper supply

You need to know the earthing supply type before you even think about caravan supplies.

You must not use a TN-C-S supply for a caravan. Also did you have any RCD protection installed to your installation? This is a must for a caravan supply too.

Thanx for the advice guys, think ill take a feed from the house like I intended. When u say take a FCU for the light do you mean off the 2.5 and run 1.5 to the light? Or should I try extend from the lighting circuit in the house? I suppose either would work? Can you have 2way switching off a FCU if I went for that option?

So you know it's not TN-C-S?

You can have what switching you like downstream of an FCU.

Are you sure you should be subjecting your family to your electrical work? It doesn't sound to me as if you know enough about it to be doing it.

I'm not installing the caravan point now

All I'm doing is extending the ring for each room and the extra sockets and the feed into the garage

But you know that the plan is to use the garage supply for a caravan:

they have also requested a caravab hook up point in the garage,

You think you are competent to do electrical wok for other people - WHY DO YOU NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT?
