We had some silicone on our kitchen sink put on 5 years ago

2 corners have started coming off
See pic below

I've bought silicone to replace...
Then I thought I can get lazy...
Maybe I can just cut 2cm either side of the bit that's come off and JUST replace the silicone there?

Is that a clever or highly dumb thing to do?

Thanks

It seems as if they pulled it a bit before mounting the sink, or that it has shrunk over the years. If it is just the corners you could use sanitary silicone from a caulk gun. I would think that the area of bonding would still allow the sink to be changed if required later as it could pull apart quite easily.
My personal response would be to use a suitable caulk, transparent would be not too visible I think

Thanks for the reply
I'll do just the corners as you suggest
If it doesn't work, I'll come crying here. LOL.

Well the alternative is to drop the sink and replace the full run of silicone rubber, then bolt it back up, that is plan B if the silicone caulk does not last long enough.
