Hi

Can anyone tell me if an alarm system can be affected by static?

I have an Omnicron 7000 and within the last 6 months it has been going off and losing all programming whenever you are about to activate or de-activate it.
It doesn't happen all the time but becoming more regular.

Any ideas? :?:

Cheers

It doesn't have an NVM, so powering down will lose info.

Is the panel battery goosed? If it is, the only thing running it is the mains, and if you have a dodgy connection there, it may cause this problem. This system is now well outmoded, so if you think it is down to more than a loose connection, I would consider replacement or an upgrade.

I replaced the back up battery about a month ago.
I will check for loose connections from the mains, but I would expect the back up to kick in if it detected a loose connection thus keeping all info.
Maybe it is just knackered....!

Could be a dry joint on the pcb...

Does the pcb look distressed, blackened etc??
