hiya all, we live in a new ish build (15 year old now) i have lived there now for 3 years, idea i have is to put some sort of independent heating in the bedroom, our bedroom is cold as its out the rear of the property and doesnt get any sun, even almost in summer.

ideas i have,
thermostatic rad valve on all rads and have double in our bedroom.
electric underfloor heating
wood burner
gas fire /
thoughts and ideas please, i really would prefer it to be separate to the central heating.
we use the bedroom a lot in the evening as we have a little one who goes to bed early so we dont use the front room that much, hence the reason we spend so much time in there.

thanks.

If it's cold now it would suggest you have wrong size rad in there, you can use an online calculator to check the correct size.

You have here the only realistic proposals......either up the radiator size or, if you want to be independant from your central heating, an electric oil radiator which you can turn down when necessary.

thanks forr idea so far, i also thought about have a fire place in the bedroom to have an indep heat source obviously electric, the bedroom could get away with a modern one of these.

Oil radiator or electric convector fire, check out the kW rating to see how much juice it will use. I doubt if one is more efficient than the other (thermostat provision aside) so it'll be your choice of aesthetics.
John :)
