Yes, a water/oily mixture is all I can assume as the plugtop was wet after the event and one new socket and plugtop later all worked/tested fine
 
That socket front will clean up.


Bet there was a fair old pop when that went! :lol:
 
I suppose it fell in the sink, rather than just being handled with wet hands.

No, it was on a machine at work.The operator tried to plug a 110V Tx into it for a process vacuum cleaner and he said there was a bit of a pop.

(No RCD - just a B32 mcb feeding 4mm² radial)

If you look the neutral pin has remained in there
