Looks to me like Trump has reached the end of the road. Interesting body language sitting in the oval office - arms crossed - common sign of fending every one around off. Not taking part in news interviews. He has put his politician backers in power and maybe they have had enough of him.
I do agree with his view of the press to some extent but other than state control everybody has to put up with it and also the other more mass media that he inclined to make use of himself. All often not really good sources of information a lot of the time.
Just add May went in a vaguely similar way and I suspect Boris may do one day as well.
