The conclusion of the article says it was a wise decision

I rest my case
Rest your case lol.

You’re that dim you think selling an appreciating asset is a good idea!

Absolutely clueless

so her neighbours were lying and her social media posts were fake?

The neighbours could be mistaken. The social media posts only prove that she spent some time at her husband's house. She has never denied that. Probably not enough proof for it go anywhere.

The article thought it was the best decision at the time.
That’s proves the reporter knows as much as Notchy.

Gold being one of the most valuable and reliable assets on the planet, you’d have to be a complete idiot to sell it at all, especially at ridiculously low price.

But if you agree with it that’s up to you. I think it was one of the biggest mistakes a government has ever made.

Tim Focas, director of financial services for Westminster think tank Parliament Street, says YES.

While Gordon Brown could have sold at a better price, for the vast majority of governments across established economies, there is no real point to holding gold.

The purpose of foreign exchange reserves is not for the state to manage wealth on behalf of the country. People should do this for themselves.

UK reserves should only really be used to underpin monetary policy, and to halt any possible crisis such as a significant run on the pound, not as any kind of sovereign wealth fund. The trouble is that gold is not well suited as a state asset, as its value is very likely to drop as soon as it is deployed as a government intervention mechanism.

much better qualified than a plumber

"After graduating with a degree in history from Balliol College, Oxford, Alan Beattie took a Master's Degree in Economics at Cambridge University."

So America, China, Russia, Germany, Italy etc..

Are all daft and have no need for their gold reserves.

Countries put different values on economic gambles...

Was the UK right to decide it had no need to be in the EU, given that the losses already massively exceed the selling of that gold?

'Daft' can be seen as a relative term ;)

That was a vote.

Selling gold is beyond stupid!

It wont go anywhere, the electoral fraud is not the issue. The tax evasions and hypocrisy is.
I suspect there will be a number of MP's who have been confused where they live for electoral purposes, especially with all the confusion over expenses claims and where they live. They should be careful what they wish for with AR. Giving the wrong address for voting is serious and it will be run with if anything comes of the investigation.
