Chocolate peanuts and raisins

you have three jars that are mislabeled.
one contains chocolate peanuts
another chocolate raisins,
the third has a mix of both (not necessarily a 50/50 mix, could be a 2/99 mix or a 399/23 mix).

both types of sweet look and feel identical.

how many choccie sweets would you have to pull out and eat, and out of which jars, to find out how to correct the labels on the jars?

take sweet from jar labelled mixed. It must contain either All raisins or All peanuts.
You now have a jar mislabelled mixed and another mislabelled Either raisins or peanuts. If the jar labelled mixed contained Raisins then the jar labelled Raisins must contain Peanuts and the jar labelled Peanuts is mixed.

Therefore the answer is one sweet from the jar mislabelled mixed.

spot on! :)

good man, the key is that all jars are mislabled
