You’d please plenty of people if you had basic camps where they are taken to to wait for a decision where they could be bed and boarded and kept under the watchful eye of the authorities and not be allowed to come and go as they pleased. Get asylum, all well and good, off they go. Get refused asylum, straight back onto a plane or boat to the last country they came from before entering the U.K.

The tricky bit is the last sentence. We can't force France etc. to take back failed asylum seekers. The rest is sensible.

That's a different question. But there are plenty of genuine refugees who have come here after fleeing war zones. If you want to find some of their stories, then Google should be able to help you. It might not make much sense to us. But those are the facts. There are 3.5 million refugees in Turkey from the Syrian war. Why don't they all just stay in Turkey. I don't know. But for some reason a tiny proportion decide they want to come to the UK.

It's better, hence why many more go there instead of here.
