LED Season's Greetings Cards.

The idea is to use a 3V button cell a simple switch and some LED's. The "circuit" will be made with tin foil and I am planning to use red and green LED's.

I know I could incorporate a 555 chip to make it flash, but want to keep it reasonably simple.

Maybe I could get some flashing LED's?

Do I take it that you've looked around 'craft' suppliers? I would have expected that there would be sources of cheap (and probably very 'flat:) ) components (LEDs, switches, batteries) specifically designed for the sort of purpose you have in mind?

Kind Regards, John

Thanks John. I started by looking at Hobbycraft. They don't have any electronic components.

Bernard, the LED's are no good voltage-wise, but I'll look at the track. Thanks.

Could you risk using 9 volts from a PP3 battery as they are easy to connect to using two drawing pins in a piece of wood as contacts and a rubber band to press the battery against the pins.
