I have read all available Mason Mitre/kitchen worktop jointing topics and I am still undecided. I have fitted my kitchen but have never fitted a worktop. I already own the tools required except for the template. I have downloaded some instructions on the use of the jig and think that I can probably do it, however, they refer to 600 or 650mm worktop and mine is 616mm.
My problem is simply this. FITTER rightly says that an experienced fitter will do a better job and the cost is small compared with the risk. However, there are some right bodgers out there who will rush in and rush out doing a so-so or poor job. I know as I have had to put a so called tradesmans work right in the past. How can I ensure that I get a decent fitter? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a decent fitter in the Wirral area of Merseyside who will do the job?

Some jigs/templates are limited to 600/650 but others can do a wide range. Trend do some very good but expensive ones, they're even available from the larger B&Q sheds.
