Hi all,
Just got this lunking great brute for xmas...wondering if I can fit a piece of felt or similar to the pad and use it for buffing wax or similar onto wood?

Any pointers as to where to get the needed kit?

Thank you

I'm sure its possible to do such a deed but the pad would have to be very secure......however, why not consider a 250v car mop polisher - they come with 2 bonnets, have a random orbit and they are much more gentle?
Mines an Autocare one, less than £30 from a motor factor. Polishes the motor reasonably well, too!

Hello John,
I am aware of these polishers, I was thinking of getting one of those to sort out severe swirl marks left on the bonnet of my car...

I was wondering if I could spare the costs, on this occasion as some of the GSS (blue) sanders do accept a special mop to do polishing eg GDA280 DELTA SANDER

Will keep snooping around.

Yes, thats an excellent detail sander, and by its very design would be much more gentle for the waxing. Much more suitable than the orbital!
These triangular sanding sheets cost a bomb though if you use it for the real thing.

wont work it only vibrates in about 5mm orbits which wouldn't even agitate a woollen pad where as a normal 8" pad will travel 600mm on the outer edge

aah, I see. Didnt know that was the difference....Many thanks, off to jemmy the Piggy Bank...

Really??! use one of those car polishy things? Do they work? Someone said they were awful even for polishing cars??

I am up for one, if it is really that good?
