Aqualisa Quartz 9.5 sounds like a kettle!

Hi.
Had a bit of trouble with this shower where the water was either red hot or freezing col, now when I turn it on it makes the sound of a kettle boiling, splutters a bit but doesn't actually have any proper water flow after that.
Any ideas greatfully appreciated!!

Are you in a hard water area and if so how old is it

Yes i think so. Probably 4 years

Is your water pressure normal everywhere else?

Somebody may say otherwise but I suspect it's scaled to hell and needs replacing, it may also have reduced the flow enough it's triggering the overheat

Does the whole tbing need replacing? No way I can salvage it?

You could check that the filter is clean and not partially blocked ,on the cold water inlet of the shower.

It would be worth trying without the shower head attached. If you get good flow and no kettling then the shower head is probably scaled up.

Eliminate this first, then move onto the filter on the water inlet.
