"DO NOT DISPOSE OF SMOKE ALARM IN A FIRE"

I'll bet the house is full of other examples of such things.Just like many other things, they do not go in fires.
can you make the slot that houses the pp3 battery a bit bigger, thank you.Apologies for being a boring git but I design the PCB's that go in them![]()
It does when you want the bluey from itPVC insulated and sheathed cable for a start....
and then there is the minor issue of the radio active isotope in them, you forgot to mention that.I did not laugh, smoke detectors are supposed to detect smoke, not be in a fire.
They, like many other modern devices are made of materials that give rise to toxic fumes when burnt.

Maybe you didnt understand the term bluey? the scrapyard you took it to would burn off the pvc to get the copper and you got the money for the scrap copper, not worth stripping tons of small cable so it was burnt only downside is it gave you less money than "bright copper" the likes of stripped large csa cables and busbars and pyro strippings etc which were worth the effort of stripping before taking down the scrapIf you're disposing of it in the course of trade do you have a licence which allows you to incinerate it?
