I am pretty sure the expansion vessel on my Ariston Eurocombi SX20 boiler has gone. The pressure just keeps going up until the pressure overfow kicks in. Have repressured the Expansion Vessel, and this works for a while. So I want to replace the EV.
Just want to know if I can replace the Expansion Vessel without taking the Boiler off the wall ? There's one screw fixing it on the top of the frame and an accessible inlet pipe connection. Are there any other fixings lower down ? Can I just lift it through the top of the boiler once these are undone ?
I don't have a manual to hand at the moment.
Cheers.

just fit another ex vessel somewhere on the return

as long as there are no valves between it and the boiler

have you checked the precharge pressure ? it might just need pressureising

I've had a phone call on this subject. The expansion vessel is leaking so needs changing. Does anyone know if it can be changed without removing the boiler/flue?
