Right then I'm looking to change my system to a combi setup and I have narrowed the condensing boilers down to three makes based on peoples experience and some recommendations.
Now can anyone suggest a model and make which will sit in my garage (frost protection needed I assume)? I need an output of about 30KW.
Also I need to have a wired or wireless controller in the house just so the wife does not have to go into the garage to switch it on (I dont know they want the world, whats wrong with running to the garage in -5C temp in your dressing gown!).
If you could give a few details on your desired system I can then decide on one?
Hope we get a good discussion on the go and thanks in advance.

I was in same predicment. Having friends in south and southeast they all had vaillant boilers mostly non condensing. By the time I took the decision condensing were going to be compulsory. With additional cost of condensing option I opted for vaillant ecomax. There was a slight problem at commissioning but then the guy who fitted it wasn't upto it. The problem was sorted in flat 5 minutes. TOUCH Wood this boiler works so well. I recommend to anybody who asks.

Have heard a few good things about them anyone have any views on other boilers or more on the vaillant?

its the back up you need to worry about

the only one i know that has it is FERROLI fit a domicompact 30 and save some cash this will work with rf progrmable stats

dont think if you pay a huge wad u get a better boiler there is a lot of speil and marketting going into this

no need to pay more than 700 max for the boiler and flue with or without clock

Goooba [so many oooo's] I think the Ferroli is OK. Look at Worcester greenstar, Glowworm cxi [now linked with vaillant, quality stuff], but as ever the installation and commissioning is critical. Don't get someone to slap it on the wall & screech off down the road! Cleaning the system & setting up properly will give you years of reliable use with most better boilers. Like everything, spend a bit more [ not most expensive, ie not BG!] and get a good set up to keep you warm for many winters to come [well, til the gas runs out :)]

Neighbours got vokeras and both have had problems. One neighbour had a service contract (not BG). It took ages to fix a minor problem (micro switch). The parts they replaced for a minor fault was shocking.

I would strongly suggest VIESSMANN, everyone in germany has one and they appear to be making some progress here in the UK.

just my 2p worth

To you, any German name would sound like a panzer division. It's pronounced fees-mahn if that helps you assimilate it.

Noooo, not phonetically! I just pictured a load of Veissman boilers thundering out of Germany to assault good old blighty. Like a panzer division.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought for a moment there that we were in 2006, not 1940. Silly me.

Sounds more like a Panzer division!

Some of the ones iv looked at sound like tanks "Tigers" to be exact. Still the the Tigers were good tanks in there time, not sure about the VIESSMANN.

You Guys  Anyone want a video of "The Battle of The Bulge"
