Artificial grass around TPO tree

Hi

Essentially I was artificial grass in my garden. There is a tree next door with a TPO.

To do what I need to do, I would need to dig 100mm down and hardcore etc.

Can I do this near a tree with a TPO or could that damage to tree roots?

How close is the tree, and why on earth do you want a plastic rug in the garden you'll need to keep hoovering?

It will also fade in sunlight, be a trip hazard if not secured properly, blow away if not secured properly, give kids friction burns if they have a slide/fall on it. Stick to the real stuff, it's even good for the environment.
