Atag , viessmann 200 or worcester bosh

if i were to go with the atag A320 system boiler , which controls would you reccomend , the atag contolls look expensive , could i use say honeywell instead or would i need the atag ones for the weather comp . my system will be zoned upstairs + downstairs

In most cases you have to use the boiler makers own weather comp controls. The only generic control is a simple on/off signal from a simple or programmable room stat.

Because WC is viewed as a luxury by the boiler manufacturers the prices are always high except on a very few boilers like the Biasi M110 when its already built into the boiler PCB and all that is needed is a simple outside NTC sensor.

That's the same with the atag,£20 outside sensor and boiler does the rest.manf controls allow better user integration with what the boilers doing plus fault codes and diagnostics where generic controls do not.

FFS Tony your starting to sound like dr drivel, always banging on about Biasi the same as he went on about Remeha

and I have installed 2 Remehas in the last 12 months - first one lasted half our then the spark gen went second came with bits missing! When i spoke to them ( i was less than a mile away at the time from their offices) I was told to fax them what i was missing - a rubber grommet - so the could forward it to Holland to get it

Needless to say i have not installed another. Never got a reply from the rep when I outlined my problems with them, so i assumed they don't care.

Now install Viessmanns and when i had a problem ( which may have been caused by me  ) they came at 5pm.

I only called at 1pm!

My limited experience of Viessmann independent service agents has also been very good and quick.

Thats perhaps why most of the boiler I have fitted recently have been Viessmann.

So as I've based my thoughts on practical hands on experiences, what's your experience of the boiler you advised the op to look at.

You don't honestly think he'll answer that do you? Can't get the answer from google I expect

If the OP wants WC I would suggest looking at the ATAG Q series as it has an integrated Diverter valve and comes as a 4 pipe boiler which means you can just add the sensor and use any controls you like. Just did one last month with 4 zones, 2 hot water and 2 heating all generic controls, works a treat.

But doesn't the Viessmann do all that as well?

Tony

yes.also if used on there unvented theres no need for the 2 port thermal cut off.

very true Tony, but you've been on your free night in a hotel and day of tea and biscuits to get 5 year viesmann warrenty, yet ATAG think their product doesnt need any specialist installer frills so they give it to everyone.

They pay for the hotel but not the dinner and drinks at the hotel, or at least that was the ARGI view as we all paid at the point of delivery. I was not convinced they would not pay for the meal.

They also provide a buffet lunch as well, however, whilst they do describe and demonstrate their products there is a lot of genuine technical information provided particularly in relation to their weather conpensation. The information is delivered by an independent person called in as required.

Thats even more relevant on their solar course, which whilst not acredited, still covers all the same ground but just without an assessment or details of a drainback system.

There is not any similarity between Dr Drivels postings and mine as I am gas registered, have been to manufacturers as well as actually both fitted and repaired the products myself!

you were had tony, i got a night out on the town and a chinese all foc! but your not a installer anyway are you? everyone gets 5 years on the 100 compact OV anyway

Apart from you both go on about one product more than any other. Oh and that you both always think your right. And you think everyone else is rubbish.

Apart from that nothing
