Atag , viessmann 200 or worcester bosh

I'd be suprised if the OP hasn't lost the will to live!

To be honest this comes across as a ****ing contest between posters on who has the most knowlegde......

All this sounds like an awful lot of drivel to me and obviously you have all got way too much time on your hands

Just use a mears calculator, I know it over sizes rads, but who cares, the TRV will shut down sooner and you don't get customers complaining the room isn't warm enough.

I also takes a fraction of the time to use compared to all these online gizmo's.

would the avanta be big enough . its range is Nom Output 80/60 (ch) Nett 21.6 kw & Nom Output 50/30 (CH) Nett 23kw. i would need 23kw if i had a system with hw priority as people on here are suggesting . also what about spares fore these boilers & general backup etc . it is however quite a bit cheaper than the veissmann 200

its cheaper because its poorer in design, construction, reliabilty, aftersales service pretty much everything you need it lacks in.

in oredr of preference id say

atag,viesmann,vaillant,broag,worcester

the atag a series boiler is 32 kw output but it does modulate down to 6 kw . so am i right in thinking it would be ok even though i only need around 25kw . also i see you are in notts , do you fit atag or viessmann.

I would say that its OK becaue of the low minimum output power.

As a result of the slightly larger heat exchanger its would probably be slightly more efficient at minimum power.

I fitted a few early viesmann and had problems with them, back then their technical was useless and so was their service section(independants that werent that specialist),not fitted any recently as i object to having to go on a tea and biscuits day to get 5 year warrentys.

Atag, ive got one at home, have now done a couple recently but have fitted their commercial equivilant(same boiler produced in the same factory but given another marketin name) for years.Got no complaints.

Vaillant would be bread and butter, day to day for me,good solid boilers but most people would agree the service/technical side has slipped, the phone line is useless.

Broag, commercial boilers are the bees knees,if your were to look at a quinta(yes its massively oversized) but thats how they should be made not the plastic nasty little box thats the avanta range.

i wont even waste my breath n worcester.

you may save a few bob on your gas bills, but have you got a 100k to build an extension to put this atag blr, ugly sods these they look like that manc rooney.

I would agree that they're not the nicest thing to have in a kitchen, but like the boiler in Fridays job, a wall hung IMAX isn't exactly small and pretty either when fitted in a kitchen.

if i were to go with the atag A320 system boiler , which controls would you reccomend , the atag contolls look expensive , could i use say honeywell instead or would i need the atag ones for the weather comp . my system will be zoned upstairs + downstairs

Is that speaking from personal experience?
yes
Design and Construction are subjective. Just because it uses a plastic case and industry standard components does not make it a poor design or bad construction.

Other pros on this forum have said that the after sales service is very good, so may be you are the exception which proves the rule.

So we are left with reliability.

How many Avanta boilers have you installed?
How many have you repaired?

As a firm,we've installed 10avantas being system or combi.repair wise we've been to 7,most installers will tell you that broag now give a medicine kit, various faults are boards and external controls with a few other bits thrown in.

The warrenty varies with who you speak some
say 5 years parts and labour some say it splits, service is independants but they let you repair your own and charge back.

As for other broags been installing, servicing and commisioning since the 90's

So as I've based my thoughts on practical hands on experiences, what's your experience of the boiler you advised the op to look at.
