Drill and Fix lengths of wooden batten, to the concrete ceiling, will not need so many fixings.

How about using a spit gun and some fixings???
If you don't have one you'd only need to hire one for a couple of days at the most!!

we had one for a hotel / leisure comlex we did.. it was great..
had an extension pole for it, and fixings that took a 6mm thread..
they had big loops that screwed into the fixings..
