Think about it. Both pipes connected to the top, regardless of the radiator orientation, why would the whole radiator not heat up
I guess that's a rhetorical question but the return needs to be at the bottom, hot water is less dense so would float out the top again otherwise.
Flow is actually better at the top in theory.
 
Go through gas safe register
Tried that, got a couple of duffers from there too. One consistently let me down on about four appointments then just stopped answering, the other left me with a non working gas fire because they couldn't work out how to re-assemble the isolating cock.

I was responding to post saying all four tappings the same. Perhaps the poster was in the same broad as the fitter of rad in the picture posted by Bod

Yeah I think he just meant physically the same, but I agree it doesn't affect the laws of gravity
